Happy... [22 Aug 2009|10:28am]
[ mood | ecstatic ]
[ music | Portishead - Threads ]

You must be wondering who might have hacked into this livejournal, but worry none - I am in full control of my own senses.  I can honestly say that for the first time in many years I feel full and happy.  My journey back to this place has been long, difficult, and often roadblocked by loss and darkness.  It has been quite an odyssey indeed...  Anyone who wants to know more - you know how to reach me...

I HATE THE POLICE...is a great topic to return to LJ to... [03 Aug 2009|11:38am]
[ mood | infuriated ]
[ music | Black Flag - Police Story ]

So here's the skinny:

On my way to work early in the morning on Saturday, the 1st of August, I was pulled over directly in front of Trader Joe's in Short Pump.  The state trooper walked up to my window and methodically asked me if I knew why I was being pulled over.  I honestly didn't know as I hadn't been speeding or making illegal turns or shooting anybody so far this morning.  Officer D. W. Hamrick (Badge # 7323) informed me that my state tags were out of date as of the end of July.  Hmm, I remember mailing a check a bit ago for my registration renewal...  Wait a minute!
Did he say July?!?  Is this fucker actually writing me a ticket for expired tags of only 6 HOURS?!?!?!?!?!?  The answer was yes indeed.  I tried politely to ask him if I could get a pass this time since I've already mailed my payment and I'm due at work right over *there* (as I point) and will be late.  He proceeds to make me 12 minutes late as he writes the ticket.  I did my best to poker face my seething hatred of the smug pig, thinking all the while that I wish I could shoot lightning like Emperor Palpatine out of my middle fingers right into his condescending eyeballs.  I am released thinking how much I regret paying taxes to pay people like that.  Fast-forward to today, when I called the Henrico county clerk's office to find out if I could get this dismissed without coming to court as I will be on vacation on the court date.  Apparently, as of July there will no longer be ANY financially-free dismissals.  Even if dismissed or found not guilty, you <citizen> are responsible for the $66 court fee.  This statey prick knew this and wrote me a ticket to earn money for the state.  When I go to pay this, I am seriously thinking about paying in rolls of pennies just to fuck with them...

A Long Time...Sin! [13 Jan 2006|04:58pm]
[ mood | melancholy ]
[ music | Nick Cave - Tupelo ]

I haven't posted here in a good long time. Very periodically I check in on the last few weeks goings on with all you peeps of mine and by the time I finish (as my LJ procrastination makes the catching up take about 4 hours or so), I am about to fall asleep. In any case, what better way is there to get back into LJ than taking some stupid survey? None I say, so here I go...

7 Deadly Sins

ANGER
1. Who did you last get angry with? Myself.
2. What is your weapon of choice? Being uncharacteristically (but sincerely) compassionate and helpful. Man, that throws everyone who knows me off...
3. Would you hit a member of the opposite sex? Only one that got close was a certain horrible gypsy slut some of you may remember.
4. How about of the same sex? Yes, guys are fair game although I am not much of a fisticuffs fight-starter since my kung fu is pretty lacking.
5. Who was the last person who got really angry at you? Laura unfortunately.
6. What is your pet peeve? Not having people to enjoy films with most of the time...and that gets me going on about my crappy work schedule...
7. Do you keep grudges, or can you let them go easily? I try to understand why and forgive all but the worst offenses. There are only a handful of people that I won't deal with ever again.

SLOTH
1. What is one thing you're supposed to do daily that you have not done in a long time?
2. What is the latest you've ever woken up? I dunno - I am sure I've had a bender at some point that had me waking up after sunset...
3. Name a person you've been meaning to contact, but haven't?
4. What is the last lame excuse you made? Ask Laura, cause I am trying to put all that stuff outta my head.
5. Have you ever watched an infomercial all the way through? Nope, I am not that masochistic.
6. When was the last time you got a good workout in? Yesterday.
7. How many times did you hit the snooze button on your alarm clock today? It was my day off, so none!

GLUTTONY
1. What is your overpriced yuppie beverage of choice? Don't drink soda, coffee, or most any tea.
2. Meat eaters: The younger the better - lamb, veal, duckling, etc.
3. Do you eat the skin of off chicken? Not usually, but I will from time to time with the right seasonings.
4. Have you ever used a professional diet company? Nope.
5. Do you have an issue with your weight? Sure - I can donate about 30lbs...
6. Do you prefer sweets, salty foods, or spicy foods? I practice the religion of CURRY.
7. Have you ever looked at a small house pet or child and thought, lunch? Umm, maybe...perhaps it is not wise to delve too deeply into the dark parts of a chef's mind.

LUST
1. How many people have you seen naked (not counting movies/family)? A bunch - maybe 20 not including strippers and the such.
2. How many people have seen YOU naked (not counting physicians/family)? Maybe 10 people...
3. Have you ever caught yourself staring at the chest/crotch of a member of your gender of choice during a normal conversation? Sure, all the time.
4. Have you "done it"? I done dun it!
5. What is your favorite body part on a person of your gender of choice?
6. Have you ever been propositioned by a prostitute? Yes, and I got way more sense than to make a mistake and catch a disease from that.
7. Have you ever had to get tested for an STD or pregnancy? I get tested for everything every few years just to be sure, not that I share needles or have totally stupid sex with random nasty bitches anyways.

GREED
1. How many credit cards do you own? Zero now - just about paid all the old ones off too.
2. What's your guilty pleasure store? Camp Zama Records although I haven't been in about 10 months...
3. If you had $1 million, what would you do with it? If I had a million dollars then FINALLY I would go back to school. After that, I'd pay off the house, fly Laura and I out to some awesome foreign country buy about 20 grand worth of really cool stuff then put the rest away in a foreign account earning huge interest...
4. Would you rather be rich, or famous? If I was rich I could fund my own future film projects...
5. Would you accept a boring job if it meant you would make megabucks? Boring I could do, but I have had enough of stressful insane jobs that suck my life away and contribute to me becoming a bitter ass to my wife and friends.
6. Have you ever stolen anything? Yes.
7. How many MP3s are on your hard drive? I have a couple hundred on Laura's hard drive...

PRIDE
1. What one thing have you done that you're most proud of? I married the love of my life this past July after about 9 years of knowing each other.
2. What one thing have you done that your parents are most proud of? Got a degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University.
3. What thing would you like to accomplish in your life?
4. Do you get annoyed by coming in second place? Depends on the race...altogether I am not the most ridiculously competitive person.
5. Have you ever entered a contest of skill, knowing you were of much higher skill than all the other competitors? A few times.
6. Have you ever cheated on something to get a higher score? Again, I have a few times.
7. What did you do today that you're proud of? I made an awesome breakfast that most of you would have killed for, then I did a bunch of housework that needed to be done which was a good thing because if it hadn't been done, the headache Laura came home with would have only grown and I would be in the doghouse...again...

ENVY
1. What item (or person) of your friends would you most want to have for your own? What I envy the most is something an acquaintance has (not really a friend) - this guy named Tucker has an awesome and successful night club/restaurant named Mars Bar. That is what I envy - having a place of my own that people love to go to.
2. Who would you want to go on "Trading Spaces" with? Not sure what show that is...
3. If you could be anyone else in the world, who would you be? Paul Bettany - for any who don't know he is married to the ONLY woman I'd leave Laura for - Jennifer Connelly...
4. Have you ever been cheated on? Yes, it feels like having fish hooks in your belly...
5. Have you ever wished you had a physical feature different from your own? Sure, it is the whole reason I am crazy about going to the gym these days...
6. What inborn trait do you see in others that you wish you had for yourself? One of those magic metabolisms that keeps you thin no matter what you do or eat...
7. Do you wish you'd come up with this survey? No - as long as this took to answer, it must have taken hours to write.

Regret is Definately a Hollow-Point... [30 Apr 2004|05:22am]
[ mood | drained ]
[ music | Megadump - Home ]

Damn, it has been a great long while since I posted in LJ. Anyway, the topic on this early morning is regret. I suppose most everyone alive suffers from some manifestation of regret, with it usually self-inflicted from bouts of second-guessing, compromise, or apathy. So now I can inflict one of mine on all you suckers...hehe...

From a ways before I finished high school I have always wanted to become a filmmaker. Anyone who has seen my wall of dvd's can probably figure that I am a huge film junkie. Years ago I decided I wanted to go to NYU film school, which is about the best on the east coast. Hell, Scorsese went there among many others. My gpa in high school was not quite where it needed to be to make it into film school. So here comes the big compromise. One of my other interests was cooking. I decided to learn the chef trade so I wouldn't struggle as a starving artist and have a real trade to fall back on. Well, I've been doing the restaurant thing for going on 5 years now, with no film school in sight at this point. I am far beyond burnt out on the restaurant business, as I have realized my love for cooking is very personal and not career-oriented. Now I am seeking some new kind of employment and still hoping that I can be on the filmmaker track sometime before I am 30. So there it is. I will not drag you people through paragraphs of regret rant. You have your own problems...

Now its back to the daily routine of trying my hardest to not just up and start shooting idiot people...

Not that I agree with many choices made by the man himself, but you have to admit what he was able to do in his reign of Germany was incredible. And I don't care what Ren says, the Mongol Hordes ain't got shit on the Third Reich! Francis Bacon and Gustav Klimt comes close in my taste, but they still fall short of the MAN.

[ music | KOMPRESSOR - Stronger Than ]

I got back from my excursion out to VA Beach at 7am this morning. I finally got outta bed at around 3:30pm. I planned on doing Xmas shopping today, but that got fucked. Last night, I picked up Dan in Richmond and we headed out to Sabbat. The game was sorta small but cool, but I have missed my peeps down there since I've been up here in NoVA. I got the important thing I needed to do in VA Beach which was the real reason for going, then ate some Fazoli's and kicked ass at Sabbat. I definately have to make a full weekend trip down to Hampton Roads when my roomates are in port and catch some drinks and a game. I am also really looking forward to Richmond's next Sabbat game. Tomorrow I gotta pick up my godmother at the airport...she is such a nutcase, but cool as hell at the same time.

Electric Hellfire Club rocks. Even though they haven't changed since their first album, their campy satan disco groove is oddly addictive to a rivethead like me. I haven't broke out one of their cd's in about a year at least. This quiz definately spurned this...

If i was a serial killer i would be David Berkowitz.

Originally believed to be a paranoid schizophrenic, David Berkowitz (the Son of Sam), claimed to be plagued by demons that came in the form of dogs, when the dogs would howl, that was their signal for him to kill. He said that the dogs would call out to him for blood and death, and their cry's would only stop by killing and assaulting over 6 New York women.

In a later interview Berkowitz revealed that the demon story was a conscious fabrication that he had made up to force the police into believing he was insane if he was caught. He also confessed that he would become sexually aroused when stalking his victims and would sometimes come back to the crime scenes and masturbate while envisioning his prior killings.

For the first time in almost 20 years we have a quality Bond film akin to the classics like Thunderball and Goldfinger. Man, I have to see this one at least 3 more times to catch all the nods and homage moments to the old films. The madonna theme song was the worst part of the movie, but alas. Saw the flick with my blood-brother Jesse late at night and we ended up being the ONLY people in the theater! I am a bond fanatic as is obvious, to the point that we were madmen in that place, jumping up and down and yelling. This was the best movie experience I've had in a good long while. Now I fully expect many of you to simply dismiss this as a loopy rant, because you either understand why 007 is about the coolest movie heritage of the last 40+ years or you don't. Also, this one totally redeemed the last two piece of crap Bond films. If you hear this, go see it. Shit, go see it just cause.

[ music | :wumpscut: - Wreath of Barbs ]

Something tells me that I should've left this one alone... Whatever, I am not know for my great sense of common reason. Damn, my foot tastes allright...

I am the Rake

A woman never quite feels desired and appreciated enough. She wants attention, but a man is too often distracted and unresponsive. The Rake is a great female fantasy-figure - when he desires a woman, brief though that moment may be, he will go to the ends of the earth for her. He may be disloyal, dishonest and amoral, but that only adds to his appeal. Stir a woman's repressed longings by adapting the Rake's mix of danger and pleasure.

Symbol: Fire. The Rake burns with a desire that enflames the woman he is seducing. It is extreme, uncontrollable and dangerous. The Rake may end in hell, but the flames surrounding him often make him seem that much more desirable to women.

Watchin Robocop right now - arguable one of the baddest ass films of all time. Any movie that was cut 18 different times to avoid an X rating for violence. Hell yeah. BTW, anyone thinking that seeing Star Wars 2 at the Imax might want to skip it. They cut the movie down 23 minutes and chopped part of the aspect ratio down. If you are a fan who don't care then by all means, go see it. Imax picture and sound rocks...
